Have you ever wondered what makes our planet Earth special to be able to sustain sooo many life forms?
The answer is - The GREENHOUSE EFFECT
Check out this simple video from NASA that explains the greenhouse effect
The Earth's atmosphere contains 'greenhouse gases' like carbon dioxide, methane etc. These gases trap a portion of the sun's heat and thus maintain the Earth's warm and ideal livable temperature.
However, humans have disturbed this beautiful balance of nature with activities such as
1) burning fossil fuels for manufacturing, transportation, aviation, plastic production, electricity and heat production
2) fracking to extract natural gas
3) deforestation
4) raising cattle for dairy and meat
These activities have tremendously increased the amount of these greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere. As you can imagine, the outcome is that more of the sun's heat is now being trapped making the earth WAYYYYY warmer than it has ever been historically! This is in other words - GLOBAL WARMING.
